WILDKITTENS WIN ON ROAD

CAMDEN - Barton’s eighth-grade ‘B’ team scored a come-from-behind win earlier this week by overcoming a 12-0

deficit at halftime to top Camden Fairview 22-12.

Barton got on the scoreboard in the third quarter thanks to their defense, as Damari Harper recovered a fumble and raced 95 yards for a touchdown. Hunter Lawrence’s run on the two-point conversion was successful, bringing the Wildkittens to within 12-8.

The score remained unchanged through the end of the third period, but the Wildkittens took the lead for good in the final stanza.

After their defense came up with a big play, Barton’s offense struck, as Justin Dumas fired a 70-yard touchdown pass to Trey Murphy to make it 14-12.

Harper then sealed the win with a 7-yard run, and Lawrence’s second successful two-point conversion made the final margin.
