POWER RANKINGS
Breaking down the SEC
1. Alabama (4-0):
Nick Saban wants your complaints so he can share them with his team. Do not gripe about campus parking.
2. Georgia (4-0):
The Bulldogs continue to follow Alabama around. In the old days, you’d give them a quarter to go to a movie.
3. LSU (4-0):
The team that could wreck the SEC’s playoff dreams, hosting Georgia and Alabama, needs to concentrate on Ole Miss.
4. Auburn (3-1):
Two players left Auburn during the week. The Tigers should have played Arkansas with nine guys, just to be fair.
5. Kentucky (4-0):
Water cooler chatter in Lexington today: “We made the football poll!” “Wait, there’s a football poll?”
6. Texas A&M (2-2):
The Aggies have two big moral victories, but won’t have that option playing Arkansas at a neutral site.
7. Mississippi State (3-1):
It’s Homecoming – that’s Dan Mullen homecoming, to be specific – in Starkville this week.
8. Florida (3-1):
We will see how Dan Mullen likes those cowbells NOW!
9. South Carolina (2-1):
After roughing up Vandy, the Gamecocks have some momentum. That usually doesn’t last.
10. Missouri (3-1):
The Tigers had a shot against Georgia but kept hitting themselves instead. Back into the East mosh pit.
11. Ole Miss (3-1):
Moved up one spot for D.K. Metcalf’s ridiculous catch against Kent State. Rebels will need more against LSU.
12. Vanderbilt (2-2):
Bless Vandy, but it is starting to look like another year without a bowl and with a growing irrelevance.
13. Tennessee (2-2):
The UT offense doesn’t seem to have a single playmaker and Guarantano can only hold up for so long.
14. Arkansas (1-3):
Even with Auburn missing on about three cylinders, the Razorback tricycle couldn’t go fast enough to compete.
