OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Jordan Ta'amu passed for 374 yards and accounted for five touchdowns as Mississippi opened with nine consecutive touchdown drives in a 70-21 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.

Ta'amu was 21-of-24 passing, including first-half touchdown passes to A.J. Brown, D.K. Metcalf and DaMarkus Lodge for 20, 62 and 16 yards, respectively. Ta'amu added touchdown runs of 1 and 39 yards, individually accounting for 437 yards of total offense before sitting out the second half.

The Rebels (4-2) scored on drives of 78, 61, 97, 66, 72 and 74 yards to build an insurmountable 49-7 halftime lead.

Scottie Phillips capped drives with scoring runs of 1 and 2 yards to complete a nearly flawless offensive performance in the first half.

Ole Miss freshman quarterback Matt Corral extended the touchdown streak to nine with drives of 75 and 92 yards in the third quarter. Corral passed 11 yards to Phillips before breaking a 61-yard run to cap the opening touchdown series. Corral finished 10-of-10 passing for 143 yards.

ULM (2-4, 0-2 Sun Belt Conference) dropped its fourth consecutive game and never seriously threatened. The Warhawks pulled within 28-7 on an 11-yard scoring run by Derrick Gore. Marcus Green scored on a 71-yard punt return and reserve quarterback Colby Suits threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Zachari Jackson in the second half.

Caleb Evans was 17-of28 passing for 206 yards and rushed for 37 yards on 13 carries. The Warhawks finished with 427 yards of offense, but they were largely ineffective in the red zone. R.J. Turner had five receptions for 112 yards.

The Rebels finished with a school-record 826 yards of total offense, 536 in the first half. Lodge and Brown had nine catches apiece for 179 and 133 yards, respectively. Metcalf added four receptions for 115 yards.

No. 3 Ohio State 49, Indiana 26.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Dwayne Haskins Jr. passed for a career-best 455 yards and six touchdowns and No. 3 Ohio State pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Indiana 49-26 on Saturday.

A week after a gritty victory at Penn State, the Buckeyes (6-0, 3-0 Big Ten) were forced to work hard by quarterback Peyton Ramsey and an Indiana offense that took advantage of plenty of early defensive mistakes.

The Buckeyes didn't get a handle on this one until Haskins hooked up with Terry McLaurin for a 17-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth, and then added a 30-yard scoring pass to Binjimen Victor with seven minutes left.

Haskins, who tied a school record with the six touchdown tosses, continued to add to his growing Heisman Trophy buzz, completing 33 of 44 passes and connecting for two touchdowns each with Parris Campbell and McLaurin, and one each to Johnnie Dixon and Victor. Haskins also threw an interception.

Ohio State came from behind twice in the first half to take a 28-20 lead at the half and then kept the Hoosiers (4-2, 1-2) at bay in the second half despite the gritty play of Ramsey, who threw for a career-high 322 yards and three touchdowns.

Ohio State's J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber combined for 152 yards on the ground. Campbell caught nine passes for 142 yards.

Iowa State 48, No. 25 Oklahoma State 42.

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Third-string quarterback Brock Purdy completed 18 of 23 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns to help lead Iowa State to a 48-42 victory over No. 25 Oklahoma State on Saturday.

Purdy, a true freshman, had played just one series before this game. But he stepped in for Zeb Noland — who was starting his fourth straight game in place of injured starter Kyle Kempt — in the contest's second series and immediately sparked Iowa State (2-3, 1-2 Big 12 Conference). He also had a rushing touchdown.

The Cyclones entered the day ranked last in the Big 12 in both scoring (17.5 points per game, 122nd in the nation out of 130) and yards (299.5 per game, 123rd overall) but reached season highs in both categories, amassing 465 yards overall.

With Iowa State missing leading rusher David Montgomery because of an upper body injury, Purdy also led the Cyclones in rushing. He had 84 yards, including a 29-yard TD run, on 19 carries.

Tyler Cornelius was 19 of 33 passing for 289 yards and four touchdowns for Oklahoma State (4-2, 1-2), which lost its second consecutive home game. The Big 12's leading rusher, Justice Hill, was limited to 66 yards and one touchdown on 24 carries, a 2.8-yard average.

Purdy and Cornelius had one interception apiece.
