Notes: Kentucky remained right in the mix of the SEC East after slipping by Vanderbilt last week, but another challenge lies ahead if it wants to remain in contention. A win at Missouri is almost a necessity as Georgia lies ahead next week in what could be a game for the East.

NO. 16 TEXAS A&M (5-2, 3-1) AT MISSISSIPPI STATE (4-3, 1-3) When: 7 p.m. Saturday Where: Starkville, Miss.

Notes: Mississippi State’s 1-3 mark in the conference can be a bit deceiving, as outside a 28-3 loss at Kentucky the Bulldogs have given themselves a shot to win in its other two losses against Top 10 teams in LSU and Florida. They get another shot at a big win, like they had against Auburn three weeks ago, when the Aggies come calling.

TENNESSEE (3-4, 1-3) AT SOUTH CAROLINA (3-3, 2-3) When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday Where: Columbia, S.C.

Notes: The Battle for a Bowl Bid Bowl. While breaking down the remaining schedules of each team, a win in this game will give one team a leg up when it comes to reaching the magical six-win number and a bowl bid. The loser, however, will need an upset—or two—the rest off the way to reach a bowl.
