Lady Trojans topple Fairview 15-6

MAGNOLIA – After suffering back-to-back losses, Parkers Chapel finished up the Magnolia Tournament with a solid 15-6 win over Camden Fairview on Saturday. The Lady Trojans improved to 7-5 on the season.

Kylie Jones faced 24 batters in five innings in the circle. She allowed six runs on eight hits, 6 runs with a walk and two strikeouts.

Kaylin Waller led the hitting. going 3-for-4. Ciara Pharr went 2-for-3. Drue Thomas had a triple and single. T.K. Burson, Taylor Fortune and Ali Looney had doubles. Kamryn Cross had two singles. Waller had two stolen bases. Cross and Halley Evers each had one.

Burson recorded four RBI while Jones and Thomas knocked in two runs apiece.

Lexi Betts took loss for Fairview. Bailey Carmody hit a home run in the fifth. Anna Dawson went 2-for-3 for the Lady Cardinals.

PC had a big first inning, scoring five runs. Waller led off with an infield single and stole second .

After Cross walked, Waller advanced to third on a wild pitch. Cross stole second on the next pitch.

Taylor Fortune walked to load the bases for Burson, who hit a two-run double to center. Taylor Fortune advanced to 3 rd . Jones drove in Fortune and Burson with a single to center. Looney stroked a RBI double to right.

The Lady Trojans piled on another six runs in the fifth. Looney reached on an error, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Pharr’s single. After Evers walked, Waller singled in Pharr. Thomas and Fortune smashed RBI doubles. Burson drove in a run with an infield hit. Another run scored on an error.

Parkers Chapel opened Saturday with a 6-2 loss to Genoa.

“Although we out-hit Genoa, too many errors in the field and on the bases allowed Genoa to score runs,” Swilley said.

Fortune had a double. Waller, Burson, Jones, Looney and Lexi Moss each had base hits. Thomas, Waller and Jones each had a stolen base.

Thomas allowed six runs on just three hits with four walks and five strikeouts.
