Notice of Passing LAVANDRA J. PURIFOY

Lavandra Jean Purifoy, age 45, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on July 16, 2019 at Harris Methodist Hospital.

Cremation service is being handled through Andrews Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Wendell Thompson will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery. ROSE MARY CLEMONS MODICA

Memorial service, for Rose Mary Clemons Modica of Las Vegas, NV., will be held Saturday, July 20, at 1 p.m. at the Zion Watch Baptist Church, 103 Stoute Division, El Dorado, AR.

Rose, a native of El Dorado, was born July 9, 1963, to Supt. Lennie Clemons Jr. and Christine Bean Clemons. She was a 1981 graduate of El Dorado High School.

She married Hermon Modica and to this union two children were born, Eli and Princess. She later moved to Las Vegas. On Tuesday, July 9, her 56th birthday, the Lord called Rose home to the place He went to prepare for her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mother Christine Bean Clemons.

She leaves to cherish her memory her father, Supt. Lennis Clemons Jr. of El Dorado, AR.; one son, Eli Modica, and one daughter, Princess Modica, both of Las Vegas; five brothers, Lewis Clemons (Belinda) of Columbus, GA., Lonnie R. Clemons of El Dorado, AR., Robert E. Clemons (Ethel) of Las Vegas, NV., Kenneth V. Clemons (Fern) of El Dorado, AR., and Lennie D. Clemons (Nekeema) of Jacksonvil­le, AR; five sisters, Lender Clemons Boyce (Al) of Lawton, OK., Brenda C. Jefferson (James) of North Little Rock, AR., Vicki Clemons of Grand Rapids, MI., Lillie Revels (Benny) of El Dorado, AR., and Annette Thomas (Randy) of Lawton, OK.; and nine grandchild­ren, four of whom she was legal guardian: Herman Modica III, Christine Zeola Modica, Lennie McKnight Modica and Noel Modica, as well as Hermeisha Modica, Dionna Rose Austin-Mason, Dionte Austin-Mason, Honesty La’Nya Alice Weathers, Leondre Weathers, all of Las Vegas, NV.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her warm smile and gentle spirit. Entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Las Vegas, Nevada.

DAVID A. NOLAN

David Allen Nolan age 60 of Smackover, AR passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at his residence in Smackover. David was born on February 20, 1959 in El Dorado, AR. He was a former boilermake­r, having worked for numerous constructi­on companies throughout his career.

David was preceded in death by his father, Billy J.

Williams of Smackover and by one brother, Wayne

Nolan.

Survivors include; his mother, Virginia Williams of Smackover, AR; his wife,

Patti Nolan of Oak Grove,

LA; one son, Stephan A.

Nolan of Mountain Home,

AR; one daughter, Stephanie Bell and husband Chris of El Dorado; two grandsons, Wesslee Nolan of Nashville, TN and Martial Tchimou Jr. of El Dorado; one brother, Billy G. Nolan and wife Kitty of Smackover; one sister, Deborah Clifton and husband Joseph of Springfiel­d, LA.

A memorial service will take place at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Yarbrough officiatin­g.

CHRISTEENA HILL-SMITH

Christeena Hill-Smith was born on August 1, 1978 to Herman Hill, Sr., and Linda Sue Hill in Shreveport, Louisiana. She attended Pineview High School in Lisbon, Louisiana, before moving to El Dorado, Arkansas. While attending El Dorado High School, she played for the Ldycat Basketball Team and graduated with the 1977 class. Throughout her years of employment,she worked for Conagra/Pilgrims Pride, El Dorado Paper Bag and Martin. She was a shining light to everyone she encountere­d, and her smile could light up a room. She was a strong-willed and hardworkin­g woman who did everything possible when it came to her family.

Christeena is preceded in death by her maternal grandparen­ts, L.T., Sr. and Flora Coleman, paternal grandparen­ts, Ernest and Jerry Hill, aunt, Patricia Richmond, and uncle, L.T. Coleman, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Kendrick Smith; daughter, TyKeaya Hill; parents, Herman and Linda Hill; sisters, Leeann Hill, Denise Hill,a nd Demetrice Armstrong; brothers, Prell Coleman, Eric Hill (Tiffany), Herman Hill, Jr., and LaPreston Banks; grandson, Adrian Pierce; and niece, Roxann Hill, along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, classmates, and family.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at College Avenue Church of Christ at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Lott Burgy Cemetery. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home. The service has been entrusted to the profession­al care of Andrews Funeral Home.
