Four people expected to appear in district court today on drug charges

- By Tia Lyons Staff Writer

An attempt by the El Dorado Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Division to serve a misdemeanor arrest warrant earlier this week led to several people being taken into custody on felony drug charges.

First appearance hearings are scheduled today in 35th Judicial District Court for Crawford A. Miller, 46, of the 1300 block Bock Street; Misty D. Gribben-Foster, 38, of the 3600 block of West Hillsboro; Casey J. Primm, 30, of the 2000 block of O’Rear Road; and Mallory A. Anders, 33, of the 1500 block of North Martin Luther King, all on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Crawford was also arrested on warrants for parole violation and failure to appear.

At 9 p.m. July 24, CAD officers served an arrest warrant for Crawford on a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear after learning that Crawford was staying in a room at El Dorado Inn, 3019 N. West Ave.

Police said the door to the room was ajar when they arrived and when the door opened wider after they knocked, they saw Crawford heading toward the bathroom.

They said Crawford complied with commands to stop and walk toward officers and he was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators said there were three woman — later identified as Anders, Gribben-Foster and Primm — in the room at the time and they noted that Gribben-Foster ap

peared to be trying to hide something near the edge of the bed where she was lying.

Several clear plastic bags containing crystal methamphetamine and a set of digital scales were on the nightstand next to Gribben-Foster’s bed and numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia — including bonds, pipes, syringes and plastic bags — were scattered about the room, police said.

Miller told officers that he had rented the room and after investigators confirmed that Miller was a parolee with a search waiver on file with the Arkansas Department of Community Correction, they conducted a search of the motel room.

Per state law, a person who is placed on supervised parole or probation is required to sign a search waiver that allows for a warrantless search by certified law enforcement officers.

Officers noted that Gribben-Foster was also on parole.

Investigators found a bag of marijuana and rolling papers underneath a pillow on which Gribben-Foster had been lying and a glass pipe underneath another pillow on her bed, according to a police report.

Police said they found a glass pipe underneath the pillow on which Primm had been lying and a bag containing what appeared to be methamphetamine and several syringes, one of which was loaded with methamphetamine, in a “drawer organizer” next to the area of the bed where Anders lay.

In recent months, investigators with the CAD has ramped up efforts targeting l narcotics.

Working with the ADCC on search waivers for parolees and probationers is one of the proactive measures investigators said they are taking to help curb illegal drug activity in El Dorado.
