Police are searching for Michael Dickinson, 28, of El Dorado, who is suspected in a case of sexual indecency with a child.

On July 23, Judge Hamilton Singleton filed a failure to appear warrant for Dickinson, who missed that day’s court appearance. Dickinson is facing two counts of sexual indecency with a child and one count of sexually grooming a child.

According to court documents, Dickinson was arrested on Jan. 4 after Union County Sheriff’s Office investigators received allegations that Dickinson had sent sexually explicit photographs to a young girl via text message.

Dickinson is suspected to have used a texting app to send the explicit photos. He identified himself as ‘Michael’ to the young girl he texted, according to court documents. A family friend of the victim told police he previously used the same number he texted the victim with to text her.

In an interview with UCSO detec

tives, Dickinson first denied sending the photos, claiming to have lost his phone several days prior to them being sent, according to court documents. He later admitted to sending the photos, saying his earlier statement about losing his phone was a lie and that he was drunk when he sent them, documents say.

Dickinson pleaded not guilty on May 14, according to court documents.

Sheriff Ricky Roberts said the UCSO is on the lookout for Dickinson, who is facing up to 18 years in prison if convicted.
