Reminder of Services DAISY CAROLYN COX

Daisy Carolyn Cox peacefully slipped into the arms of her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2019, at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden, Arkansas. Services will be under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in El Dorado, Arkansas. On Saturday, August 17, 2019, a service to celebrate the life of Carolyn Cox will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Young’s Chapel. Obituaries PATRICIA ANN “PAT” HARRISON

Graveside services for Ms. Patricia Ann “Pat” Harrison, age 76, will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 16, 2019, at the Spring Branch Cemetery, Taylor, AR. Interment will follow in Spring Branch Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 16, 2019, 9:00 am - 10:30 am at Bailey Funeral Home.

Ms. Harrison was born on May 21, 1943 to Nicholas Estel and Elizabeth Christine Curtis Covington in Prescott, AR and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Shreveport, LA. She was an avid reader and read her Bible and devotional on a daily basis. Ms. Harrison enjoyed sewing, fishing, crossword puzzles, arts and crafts, spending time with her family and friends and most of all, serving as a mentor to children and letting God’s light shine through her words and actions. She spent many years working in the nursery at Parker’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Parker’s Chapel, AR as well as a sitter for the elderly in El Dorado, AR. Above all, Ms. Harrison was a godly woman with an intense devotion to God and her family. She loved them all “a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck”. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Mary Lou Phillips, Bonnie Hrabovecky, Martha Nipper and Carolyn Holloway; two brothers, James Covington and Larry Phillips.

She is survived by three children, Jacqueline New of El Dorado, AR; Donald Harrison of Elm Grove, LA and Lynnette Moore and husband, Max of Elm Grove, LA; one sister, Kay Leopard of El Dorado, AR; one brother, Terrell Covington and wife, Linda of Denver City, TX; two grandchild­ren, Shauna Wade and husband, Chris of Lutz, FL, Sky Bates and husband, Michael of Mansfield, LA; three great-grandchild­ren, Brianna Wade, Kaiden Bates and Oakley Bates; also, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

CHRISTIAN JOE SLATER

Christian Joe Slater, 14, of El Dorado passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born May 5, 2005 and is the son of Cecil and LaNette Slater.

Christian was a loving son and friend to many. He was a student at Parkers Chapel

School where he enjoyed playing football. He had a passion for fishing, 4 wheeler riding and loved being outdoors. Christian enjoyed spending time with his special friends from the Warriors

Empowering Children organizati­on to which he was a part of the Black Gold

Chapter.

He was preceded in death by his Nana, Virginia Sweet. Left to cherish his memories, parents, Cecil and LaNette Slater, of El Dorado; brothers, Jake Sweet (Jennifer), Jeremy Sweet and Joey Slater (Laiken) of El Dorado; sisters, Brandi White (Josh) of El Dorado and Ashtynne Payne of El Dorado and birth mother Amy Davis.

A Memorial service will be held 4:00 PM, Friday, August 16, 2019 at Perry’s Funeral Chapels in El Dorado.

J.D. WILSON

J.D. Wilson, 72, of Three Creeks, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at his residence. He was born March 6, 1947 to Ocie Lonzo and Virginia Johnson Wilson in Junction City, AR.

He was a graduate of College of the Mainland in Texas City, TX. J.D. worked at Lion Oil as a gauger and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He served for over 20 years as a Justice of the Peace for Union County and was a Little League coach for all three of his sons for over 20 years. J. D. loved hunting and fishing with his family and had served his country in the U. S. Army.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, James Wilson, Marion Wilson, Tommy Wilson; and sister, Nancy Ritchey.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia Wilson of Three Creeks; children, Johnny Wilson (Vicki) of Junction City, Greg Wilson (Candy) of Buna, TX, Lori Hudson (Craig) of Lawson, Caleb Wilson (Lisa) of Junction City; brothers, Maurice Wilson of Junction City, Jarrell Wilson (Bet) of Lillie, LA, Woody Wilson (Helen) of Lillie, LA, William Wilson (Joann) of Lockhart, LA, Richard Wilson (Beth) of Pine Bluff; sisters, Dorothy Spooner of Junction City, Bobbie Orr of El Dorado, Julia Meador (Freddie) of Junction City, Judy Carter-Franklin (Dale) of Ft. Smith; grandchild­ren, Jordan Hudson, Blake Wilson, Jace Hudson, Bryan Thibodaux, Michael Thibodaux, Caleb Amason; and great grandchild­ren, Megan and Evelyn Thibodaux.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Junction City.

Funeral services will be 9:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. James Fout officiatin­g. Burial, with military honors will follow at Scotland Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
