MARY E. CATES

Mary E. Cates, 88, of El Dorado, formerly of Strong and Huttig passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 at Hudson Memorial Nursing Home. Mary was born on June 12,

1931 in San Augustine,

Texas, to the late Julia and James Edward

Ferguson. Mary was a retired cutter for

Con-Agra Chicken

Processing Plant, having served 17 years before her retirement.

She was a longtime member of Second

Avenue Missionary

Baptist Church in

Strong, where she thoroughly enjoyed attending. She enjoyed picking up and taking many people to work at ConAgra over the years and especially loved taking care of her chickens, cats and dogs.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James Edward Garcia and Lloyd Cates; all of her siblings; and one infant child.

Survivors include; two daughters, Judy Ferguson of El Dorado and Missy Shankle and husband Matt of Urbana; two sons, James Edward Garcia Jr. and Dan Garcia, both of Huttig; three grandsons, Ethan McMillon, Wyatt Shankle and Zach McMillon, all of Urbana.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020 at Bailey Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Odom officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.

JAMES EARL LEWIS

James Earl Lewis was born on Dec. 18, 1955 in El Dorado and grew up in Camden, where he attended school. As a young man, he later moved to Los Angeles, California, where he resided until he gained his wings.

He loved boxing, music and playing the drums.

His family and friends will miss his infectious smile and sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his father,

Hozie Lewis, and his sister, Christine Key.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Novell Lewis of El Dorado; sister, Gloria Byrd of Little Rock; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 24, 2020 at Sweet Home Baptist Church one hour before the service. Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 24, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Sweet Home Baptist Church. ROBIN LYNN VINES FARLEY

Robin was born Oct. 23, 1957 to Frank Jackson and Myrtis Vines in El Dorado. She went to El Dorado High School and graduated in 1976. Robin married her best friend Richard Farley in 1977. She enjoyed everything in life from arts and crafts to being around people, but most of all she loved being MeMaw.

She was employed at the

Department of Revenue for the State of Arkansas.

Because of her illness,

Oakridge Nursing Home was home to her for the past four years. Even when times were hard for her she always had a smile and her door was always open, and she loved the cards and visits that came her way.

Robin's body was healed Feb. 18, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, David Vines, Gurvis Vines and Frank Vines Jr.

Those left to cherish her memories are a daughter, Ashley Mitchell (Steve) and two granddaugh­ters, Gabriella Mitchell and Madalyn Mitchell, all of Odgen, Utah; a son, Richard "Craig" Farley of El Dorado; one brother, Terry Vines (Carolyn) of Fort Smith; and four sisters Murtie Watkins of Waldo, Maifred Donahue, Glenda Jerry (Randy) and Brenda Wilson (Joe), all of El Dorado.

The family would like to express their thanks to Oakridge Nursing Home and their staff and Life Touch Hospice. Funeral arrangemen­ts are entrusted to Wilson Robinson Funeral Home.
