Snoop Dogg to perform at Murphy Arts District

- By Siandhara Bonnet Staff Writer

Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg is headed for El Dorado in April along with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, and tickets go on sale for the general public Friday.

The Murphy Arts District announced tickets were available for pre-sale for MAD members Wednesday. MAD members will be able to purchase tickets through 10 p.m. today.

After evolving under Dr. Dre in the 1990s, Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., became a multi-platinum artist, actor and philanthropist.

Snoop Dogg is the artist behind chart-toppers like "Gin & Juice," "Who Am I? (What's My Name?)," "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang," "Drop it Like It's Hot," "Sensual Seduction" and more.

He has received about 20 Grammy nominations, has released 17 studio albums and sold more than 35 million albums worldwide.

He also performs as a DJ under the name "DJ Snoopadelic" across the globe.

His most recent album, "I Wanna Thank Me," was released in 2019.

Also in 2019, Snoop Dogg performed at the University of Kansas for its annual "Late Night in the Phog" preseason kick-off event — the university apologized after the show for the explicit performance, which included pole dancing and fake money shot in the air, according to an article from Time.

Snoop Dogg defended his show, though, and said the school knew what it paid for, according to USA Today.

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, a hip-hop group from Ohio known for their fast-paced rap style and harmonizing vocals, will also perform.

The group was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance with their song "Tha Crossroads" in 1997.

They have also performed with Eazy-E, 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G.

Advanced tickets for the April 25 show at the MAD Amphitheater are priced as follows:

• Pit (standing room only) — $100

• Lower level A (reserved seating) — $95

• Lower level B (reserved seating) — $85

• Upper level — $70

• Lawn — $55

The week of show, starting April 20, ticket prices increase by $15. Tickets can be purchased online at eldomad.com.
