Jo Ann Bolding, 80, died early Thursday morning, Mar. 19, 2020, at The Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le, AR.

Born August 3, 1939 in Hope, she was the daughter of the Rev. C.L. Roberts and Christeen Martin Roberts of Hope. Jo Ann graduated from Hope High School and from Southern Arkansas University. After teaching special education and music in Huttig and Strong, she retired from teaching in 2004. She was an accomplish­ed pianist, organist and songwriter who gave private piano lessons to many students over the years. Jo Ann was a gourmet cook and loved entertaini­ng with friends and family. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Huttig.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wilbur Bolding, and by her parents and her infant sibling, Grace Ellen.

Survivors include three sons, Mark Bolding and his spouse Colette, of Pittsburgh, PA, Tim Bolding and his spouse, Kandy, of Midland, TX and Stan Bolding and his spouse, Lisa, of Harrison; one daughter, Rebecca Lake and her spouse, Keith, of Lathrop, CA; sister,

Janet Warren and her spouse, Al; four grandchild­ren, Brandon, Blake and his spouse, Kearsten, Kelly and Brooke; and three great-grandchild­ren, Dawson, Kale and Gracie; and numerous other family and friends.

A celebratio­n of Jo Ann’s life will be held at a future date after the current health crisis passes. In light of current health concerns, there will be no visitation. A small, private graveside interment service will be held at the Old Lapile Cemetery on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Bro. Todd Gunter and Stan Bolding officiatin­g. Due to the health crisis, attendance is discourage­d, but those who choose to attend are asked to please observe all federal, state and local recommenda­tions including social distancing and other measures in support of lessening the impact of the current Covid-19 health crisis. Arrangemen­ts entrusted to Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
