BILLIE NELSON

Billie Nelson, 89, of El Dorado; Billie passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Life Touch Hospice’s John R Williamson Hospice House, after a brief illness.

Billie was born on March 15, 1931, to Clyde

James Mitcham and Violet Davidson

Mitcham in Union

County. She was a member of First

United Methodist

Church of El Dorado and was a former member of the

Medical Center of

South Arkansas

Auxiliary. Billie was known for her love and appreciati­on of the simple things of life and her witty humor that she poured into her poetry. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband James Nelson.

Billie is survived by her sons Don Nelson (Louise) of Smackover and Jeff Nelson of El Dorado; daughters Nancy Crook (Larry) of North Little Rock and Mary Nelson of El Dorado; and a sister Nelda Mitcham of El Dorado. Along with grandchild­ren Jennifer Nelson, Jeremiah Smith, Andy Nelson, Brittany Cunningham and Lauren Winter (Jordan) and great grandchild­ren Bradyn and Brody Betts and Presley Cunningham and her “Other Kids” Helen Kay Hampton, Mary Ann Miller and Chris Pashley.

In keeping with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommenda­tions regarding public gatherings there will be no public visitation or services at this time. A private family graveside at Smyrna Cemetery with Rev. Jason Yarbrough officiatin­g will be held.
