- By Jason Avery News-Times Staff

There has been plenty of drama surrounding the El Dorado Drillers' first two games in Junction City.

On Thursday, Trace Davis, Jacob Orr and Caden Cranford combined on a no-hitter.

For their encore on Friday, the Drillers delivered a walk-off win by topping Southern Attitude 6-5.

The Drillers (3-3), who have won three of their last four games, led 5-0 only to see Southern Attitude score two runs in the fifth and three in the seventh to tie the game.

However, the Drillers responded in the bottom of the seventh, winning the game in a rather unconventional manner.

Sam York led off the frame with single to left-center and Shadarious Plummer and Hunter Lawrence were each hit by a pitch to load the bases.

With Justin Dumas at the plate, York scored the game-winning run on a passed ball.

The Drillers built their 5-0 lead by scoring two runs in the first and single runs in the second, third and fourth innings.

Plummer started the first-inning rally with a triple to left, and Lawrence was hit by a pitch to put runners at the corners.

Lawrence then stole second to put a pair of runners in scoring position, and Dumas drilled a double to left to score Plummer and Lawrence to give the Drillers a 2-0 lead.

In the second, Wyatt Parker led off with a single, and with one out, Brody McKinney doubled to left-center to score Parker to make it 3-0.

Lawrence helped manufacture a run in the third.

After leading off the inning with a walk, Lawrence stole second and scored on Jamison Dumas' two-out single to left-center to push the lead to 4-0.

The Drillers took advantage of a pair of free passes to score their run in the fourth.

McKinney and Demarcus Young both walked, and Plummer delivered an RBI single to left-center to make it 5-0 before Southern Attitude rallied.

Starter Justin Dumas allowed two hits, walked two and struck out one over three scoreless innings of work.

Mason Dougan worked a scoreless frame in relief, allowing one hit with two walks and one strikeout.

A.J. Alsobrook allowed two earned runs in one inning of work. He allowed two hits and walked one.

Lawrence allowed four hits and three earned runs in 1 2/3 innings. He issued no walks and didn't record any strikeouts.

Trey Murphy was the winning pitcher after getting the final out in the seventh.

Plummer and York each had multi-hit games to lead the Drillers' attack.

Plummer went 2-for

3 with a triple, a walk, one run scored and one RBI, while York was 2-for4 along with scoring the game-winning run.

Dumas was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while McKinney finished 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, one run scored and one RBI. Parker was 1-for2 with a walk and one run scored.
