GWEN HORN HAVENS

Gwen Horn Havens, 96, of El Dorado, AR, formerly of Magnolia, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 at her residence.

Gwen was born August 23, 1923 in Taylor, AR (Dorcheat community) to the late William Clarence and Willie Dean (Pickler) Horn and was a bookkeeper.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Billy James Havens; brothers Dana B. Horn, Snooks Horn, and W.C. “Sonny” Horn; and great niece Sharon Ann (Horn) Smith. Gwen is survived by her nephews Dr. Larry Horn and wife Sandra of El Dorado and Steven Horn and wife Penny Jo of Manning, SC; great nephews and nieces Maggie Horn of Los Angeles, CA, Cory Horn of Virginia, Kayla Horn of El Dorado, Terry Wayne Horn of Texas, Lana Gwen Horn of Tennessee, Dannovn Horn of Malibu, CA, and Gary David Horn of Los Angeles, CA; sister in law Brittany Horn of Los Angeles, CA; a host of extended family and friends.

Gwen’s wishes were to be cremated and her ashes be buried next to her husband in the Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps, AR.

Cremation services were provided by Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR.

BISHOP M. C. MCGHEE

Bishop M.C McGhee was born October 24, 1943 to Manuel and Arnes McGhee in Calion, Arkansas. He confessed a hope in Christ at a young age. He excelled in basketball and baseball.

Bishop McGhee moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1974 and joined the Losalem Baptist

Church where he met the love of his life Lady Erma

McGhee. On May 27, 1978, they were united in holy matrimony. After 42 years together, he would still say,

“ain’t no women like the one I got.” He was ordained into the ministry October

1980. In March 1996, he became Founder and Lead

Pastor of Serenity Church.

In October 2005, he was consecrate­d as a Bishop

Bishop McGhee was known for dressing sharp, smelling good, and for dancing unashamedl­y for the Lord. He always had a word of encouragem­ent for everyone and he was never hesitant to help anyone in need. He was always willing to give of his time, talent, and money for the cause of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Arnes McGhee; brothers, LG Pumphrey, OB Pumphrey, Prentis McGhee, Cleo McGhee, Calvin McGhee, Jacob McGhee, OD McGhee, and sister Allie Mae Belin.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Erma McGhee; brother, Emanuel (Judy) McGhee; three sons, Michael McGhee, Apostle Herman (Debra) McCardell, Deon Archie; four daughters, Dorethea Reynolds, Princess (Wayne) Ellis, Shanika Powell, Kira Sayles; 25 grandchild­ren, 32 great-grandchild­ren, a host of nieces and nephews, and many other relatives, Special friend and sister Mary Dabbs, countless colleagues, friends and associates.

Special thanks to his Nephew and Niece, Drs. Jonathan & Jessica McGhee, Nurse Practition­ers, Keith & Lisa Stroder, The Ohioans home care, and the Hospice of Northwest Ohio for assisting in the care of Bishop McGhee.

LAUREY DAN TUCKER

Laurey Dan Tucker passed away June 21, 2020, on one of the most important days of his life—his 62nd wedding anniversar­y, which also happened to be Father’s Day. He was known for his integrity, devotion to his family and commitment to his faith and passed away with his loved ones by his side following a brief fight with cancer.

Born in 1936, in El Dorado,

AR to Floyd and Kathleen

Tucker, he graduated from

El Dorado High School and obtained degrees in

Chemical Engineerin­g and

Law from the University of

Oklahoma. After serving two years in the U.S. Army in Germany, he returned to the U.S. working as a patent attorney for Phillips Petroleum and Monsanto and then in private practice in Dallas, TX, for 32 years.

The day following his retirement he moved to Hot Springs Village, AR, where he -especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and socializin­g with family and friends. Always active in the churches where he lived, he joined Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where he served in many leadership roles and volunteere­d at the Project Hope Food Bank, HS/HSV Symphony Guild and Arkansas Community Foundation.

Dan was preceded in death by both his parents as well as his brother Bill Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Kay, daughters Laurie Diaz (Les), Plano, TX and Dana Kleine (Joe), Little Rock, grandchild­ren Caroline Diaz, Daniel Kleine (Morgan), Courtney Lambert (Mark), Mallory Kleine, William Kleine, great grandchild­ren Danny and JoJo Kleine, brother Ervin Tucker (Becky) and many nieces and nephews.

A remembranc­e service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 199 Barcelona Rd, Hot Springs Village, AR 71909, or the non-profit of your choice.
