LETTERS EDITOR TO THE

-

To the Editor:

This letter is being written to clarify the “El Dorado Days” article which appeared in the June 16th edition and also June 22. ALL of El Dorado Days events ARE canceled for 2020 not most!.

Events are being planned under the guise of El Dorado Days. However, as the owner of the federally trademarked “El Dorado Days”, Mayor Smith-Creer and Terry Davis do not have the legal right to promote their events as El Dorado Days events. Their continued use of our trademark is confusing people, and I hope this letter brings clarity.

El Dorado Days 2020 events were canceled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Thanks to our loyal patrons, El Dorado Days does, indeed, live on. It is our hope we will continue to exist after the pandemic. The torch has not been passed to Mayor Smith-Creer and Terry Davis.

Athaline Moore, El Dorado

To the Editor:

This pandemic sometimes brings out the good in people and also brings out the bad. Recently, someone came into our shop and stole some items. What that person may not know is somebody saw you, so I know who you are. You have a chance to make this right. The same way you snuck into the shop and took the items, you can sneak back in and put them back. If this happens in a timely manner, no charges will be filed. If not, I will make sure the authorities know what you did, and we will file charges on you for this crime. If the items aren’t returned soon, I plan to share this letter on facebook and have a few neighbors share it with their friends. Please do the right thing.

Linda J. Warren, El Dorado P.S. God can help you with this problem and He will forgive you. All you have to do is ask.
