Strong-Huttig Ready for Learning: What you need to knowTwo options are available for students during the 2020-21 school year, traditional/blended or virtual learning. The first day for both will be August 24. Traditional/blended will follow the traditional school day schedule in-person and offer after-school tutoring. Virtual schooling requires daily attendance and student participation through Zoom and Google Hangouts; a program called Lincoln Learning will be used for curriculum

In-person students can participate in on-campus activities and Arkansas Athletics Association activities and will have recess provided. Virtual students can also participate in AAA activities.

Distancing measures will include classroom arrangement, the number of classes on the playground at one time, minimized transitions when possible, oneway traffic in the hallways and social distancing where feasible.

Students will wear a face covering or mask “as required by the Arkansas Dept. Of Health”.

Buildings and surfaces will be “frequently sanitized,” and students and staff are asked to stay home when not feeling well or if they have been exposed to COVID-19.

If a student or staff member tests positive, ADH guidelines will be followed and the ADH will conduct contact tracing.

For all students, School Based Mental Health providers will work with teachers to address student social/emotional learning needs. In the event of school closure, students with special needs will receive live instruction utilizing Zoom, Google Hangout and video conferencing sessions and phone calls.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided Monday through Friday for in-person students. Cafeteria seating will be limited, and teachers will rotate with their class eating in the cafeteria, classroom and at designated spots on campus throughout the week. For virtual students, parents can order and pick up breakfast and lunch at designated times/locations.

Students will not be allowed to drink from water fountains, but refill stations will be available. Students will need to bring their own water bottles.
