POWER RANKINGS
1. Alabama (6-0): I truly believe we are a week away from the “But Alabama hasn’t been tested...” hot takes from some of the national pundits.
2. Texas A&M (6-1): Praying for College Football Playoff chaos in College Station these days. There’s a chance if games keep disappearing.
3. Florida (7-1): Still No. 3 in the Power Rankings because of its loss to Texas A&M, but Florida knows that destiny is in its hands, or jaws, or claws ... or whatever Gators have.
4. Georgia (6-2): Getting the offense going when it no longer helps you win a title has to sting a little differently, but it still stings.
5. Auburn (5-3): Auburn has to regroup after an Alabama loss, so the Tigers are one of several teams whose motivation will be a question mark.
6. Ole Miss (4-4): 2020 has had about as many bright spots as the bottom of a well, but Lane Kiffin’s return to the SEC has been one.
7. Missouri (4-3): The Tigers have a surprisingly good shot at a winning season as Eli Drinkwitz did show us something this year.
8. LSU (3-4): It will be interesting to see if LSU has anything left, or if the last crawdad has already crawled off the plate.
9. Arkansas (3-5): If Sam Pittman is really going to be the SEC Coach of the Year, he probably needs another win . And Alabama is the last game on the schedule, so it may be Mizzou or bust.
10. Kentucky (3-6): Clearly a team with no depth left, but even a decent start might be enough against South Carolina.
11. Mississippi State (2-6): Will Rogers, like J.T. Daniels at Georgia, has come of nowhere and been very impressive, even in two tough losses.
12. Tennessee (2-5): Could the state of Tennessee see the rare double coaching vacancy that Mississippi had last year?
13. South Carolina (2-7): There is no way to know if South Carolina can beat Kentucky, but we can all get behind the fact that the miserable season ends Saturday.
14. Vanderbilt (0-8): Everyone tuned in to watch the history-making Sarah Fuller, but not even being able to get into field-goal range against Missouri was probably the last thing Derek Mason needed everyone to see.
