El Dorado Police Department recovers stolen car from Little Rock man
Those who traversed Hillsboro shortly before noon Wednesday may have noticed several El Dorado Police officers clearing the contents out of a grey sedan near the street’s intersection with Washington Avenu.
According to a police report, details of which were read to the News-Times by an EPD dispatch officer, the officers were preparing the vehicle to be returned to its owner, who had previously reported it stolen. Three were arrested Wednesday in relation to the vehicle’s theft, as well as for the contents inside.
A Little Rock man reported the vehicle stolen to the EPD recently after first making a report to Little Rock police, according to the police report. He said he allowed Sarah Lepe, who was arrested Wednesday, to borrow it to visit a store, and she never returned with it. The man was subsequently able to track the vehicle to El Dorado and proceeded to locate it in town, at which point he contacted EPD again.
Lepe, Lawrence Henry and Corey Perry were all in the vehicle when it was located, along with a gun that had also been reported stolen. All three were charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and possession of a stolen firearm.
Henry and Perry were cited out, dispatch officer Josh Grossman said, while Lepe was booked into the Union County Sheriff’s Office late Wednesday afternoon. The EPD had an active warrant against Lepe for a separate charge of theft of property at the time of her arrest.
