FRANCES WILSON CARLTON
Frances Wilson Carlton passed away Saturday, 26 December, 2020, at Redstone Village. She was born on 2 January, 1936, in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Frances double majored in Journalism and English at the University of Arkansas where upon graduation, she was named in Who’s
Who among students in
American Universities and
Colleges. She worked as a newspaper reporter in both Arkansas and Texas, and while living in Illinois,
Frances wrote a military news column. Later in
South Carolina, sh worked as a media specialist and copywriter. As a resident of Redstone Village, she was proud to serve on its council.
She got the nickname “Feenie” from her best friend, Pat Lucy, when they were in the 8th grade because her friend thought “Frances” was too long. They have been best friends since they were three years old.
Her interests included bridge, knitting, reading, building puzzles, and playing games with family.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Howard; her son, David; and her sister Audrey Campbell. Survivors are her other two children Lynn Schmitt (Bill) and Joe (Karen); her daughter in law, Rachel; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A private Memorial Service and interment with immediate family will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Aldersgate United Methodist Church of Huntsville, Alabama, where she was a charter member. Service was entrusted to Laughlin Service Funeral Home, Inc. and Crematory.
JEFFERY TODD EVANS
Jeffery Todd Evans, age 50 of Hampton, died Monday January 4, 2020 at his home. He was born September 9, 1970 in Camden, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Lanette McCann Evans; and one sister, Sherry Evans. He is survived by his father, Wayland Evans of Hampton; one son, Christian Evans of Hampton; four brothers, Danny (Keita) Evans of Monroe, LA, Steve Evans of Rison, Kevin (Beverly) Evans of Hampton, Keith (Darcey) Evans of Hampton; two sisters, Tina (Bob) Keener of Hampton, Cindy (Doug) Easterling of Thornton. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Salem Cemetery near Bearden with Rev. Paul Reams officiating. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. BRUCE ELLIS STRINGER
Bruce Ellis Stringer, age 71, of Gonzales, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 surrounded by family. Bruce was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on October 9, 1949.
Bruce graduated from Junction City High School in 1968 and lettered in all four sports. He was an exceptional athlete. He served in the United State Air Force as a Weapons Specialist and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Alexandria, Louisiana, where he received the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service, along with the Honor Graduate Award in his weapons training courses. He loved his country and was honored to be a Veteran. He received his first license to preach in 1975. He retired early from Novartis to pursue his calling and received an Associate Degree in Ministry with a concentration in Biblical Studies in 2002. He served as an Associate Pastor at Household of Faith church until he retired. He was a member of
Victory Temple church in Prairieville, Louisiana and President and Founder of Immanuel Heals Ministry.
He traveled the world and lived to please God. While he was an avid outdoorsman, that loved hunting, fishing and gardening, his biggest impact was in the community and his church.
He was selfless and dedicated his life to serve others. He was loved and known by many. Bruce will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and he would want everyone to know that he was more than prepared and eager to meet his Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Alexander Stringer and Mary McVay Stringer, sister, Letha Echols and brother, Wayne Stringer.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of twenty-nine years, Veda Gautreau Stringer; his children, Tricia Porche, Vickie Hall and husband, Jim, Scott Stringer and wife, Tisha; his brother, Bill Wilson and sister, Carrie Lofton; his aunts, Virginia Mulligan and Vona Murphy Smith; his five grandchildren, Brandon, Nathan, Maci, Bree and Elizabeth and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend our gratefulness to his entire care team in the SDU2 and MICU and Dr. David Neil Campbell at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for their compassion and quality of care, along with our friends at LSU Health-Baton Rouge.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Ascension Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor James May will officiate. The burial will be held in Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Brandon Hall, Nathan Hall, Jody Gautreau, Isreal Millet, Patrick Gautreau and Brett Gautreau.

CHARLES RICHARD WATKINS
Charles Richard Watkins, 87, of El Dorado passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at UAMS in Little Rock, AR.
Charles was born May
5, 1933 in Huttig, AR to
John Letcher and Katie
Cleo Hendrix Watkins. He retired after 33 years from
Lion Oil as a warehouse supervisor. Charles served in the United States Air
Force, he was a member of the El Dorado Masonic
Lodge 13 since 1956, and he was a member of West
Side Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents and his wife of 49 years, Nora Lee Leamons Watkins.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Herring (Johnny) of Strong, AR his grandchildren, Katie Meade (Cage) of Urbana, Krystal McCarty (Dylan) of Shreveport, LA; his great grandchildren, Cooper Meade, Paige Meade, and a great granddaughter, Nora Kate McCarty due in May.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 in Young’s Chapel with Rev. Gerald Perry and David Allen officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
