Gati collects more medals at Championships
ATHENS, Ga. - El Dorado native Izzy Gati captured her second and third medals Friday at the 2021 Southeastern Conference Swimming & Diving Championships.
Gati, a junior at Kentucky, claimed the bronze medal in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.74. Rhyan White of Alabama (50.94) won the event with Texas A&M's Taylor Pike (51.74) taking silver.
Gati, who swam leadoff on Kentucky's gold medal 200 medley relay on Wednesday, was the third swimmer Friday on the third place 400 medley relay.
She also finished sixth in the 200 individual medley.
On Saturday, Gati advanced to the finals in the 200 butterfly. She had the second fastest time in the event in the preliminaries.

DES PLAINES, Ill. - Smackover's Karli Goocher got her first collegiate hit on Friday in Lindenwood's 2-1 win over Northwood in the Rosemont Tournament.
Goocher went 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI while playing catcher.
Lindenwood beat Parkside 7-0 with Goocher going 1-for-2 with a RBI and a sacrifice fly while playing designated hitter.
She was 0-for-2 in her debut on Thursday, a 2-0 loss to Ferris State.
• • • El Dorado's Czar Perry, a senior guard at Cal State Bakersfield, scored four points with five rebounds and six assists in Friday's 71-66 loss to CaliforniaSanta Barbara. Perry was 2-for-4 from the field for the Roadrunners.
• • • El Dorado's Brenden Johnson had four rebounds in Arkansas Tech's 61-58 loss to Southern Arkansas University.
Johnson also had one steal in 15 minutes of action.
