OBITUARIES

JIMMY GORDON HINES

Jimmy Gordon Hines, 61, of El Dorado passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born June 18, 1959 to the late Harold O’Neil Hines and

Augusta Stanford Hines.

So many words can describe Jimmy. He was adventurous, loving, hardworking, dedicated, honest and a ‘dog rescuer’. To have known Jimmy was truly a blessing because your life was so enriched just by the experience. He would ‘pick’ and joke with you and at the same time present you with the shirt off of his back. He lived life to the fullest. He loved his country and served in both the Marines and the Army for a total of eight years and was truly proud to serve his country. He loved fishing with his family and traveling.

His main love was God and Jesus. His life was a testament of loving God to the fullest. His other main love was his family. One could see it in his mannerisms with his devotion to every family member, especially his sons, Caleb and Daniel.

He loved running and was part of several running clubs, running marathons and engaging with every person he ‘ran’ across. Jimmy has run his final race and God and Jesus were there with him the whole way helping him finish the race to his heavenly home. Jimmy was so loved and will be truly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Caleb Cain and Daniel Hines; siblings, Becky Gathright, Ron Hines (Jo) and Sheila Hines and nieces, Amanda Cline, Breanna Hendricks (Justin), Cassie Hines, Caitlin Hines and Aurora Cline.

Visitation will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Green Grove Cemetery followed by a Graveside Service at 2:00 PM officiated by Greg Tucker and Chris Cleveland under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Chapels.
