Kyleigh Wheaton pitched the entire five-inning game, striking out 12 Elkins batters and walking four in the Merrill Reynolds Memorial Complex at Gentry High School.

She allowed no hits and no runs in the 10-0 shutout game. And she was helped by the errorless play of her teammates in the field.

On the offensive side, Malea Wilson led her teammates with her bat by driving in five runs on doubles in the first and second and a home run in the third. Wheaton also had two doubles in the game, and Afton Finnell one.

The Lady Pioneers had 13 hits in the game, with Wilson, Wheaton, Liberty Brannon and Mazzi Jones all collecting multiple hits for Gentry. Wheaton and Brannon each had two RBIs in the contest.

And Wilson added another run in the top of the third with a homer to left field.

Though Clarksville attempted a comeback with three runs in the bottom of the third, Gentry added solo runs in the fourth and fifth, four in the sixth and three more in the seventh for a 133 victory.

Wilson was five for five with her bat, including a home run, a triple and a double. Liberty Brannon also hit a home run to left in the fourth.

GENTRY 17, SILOAM SPRINGS 3

At Siloam Springs on March 8, the Lady Pioneers held the Lady Panthers scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when Siloam Springs put three runs on the board on a single and a couple of errors, but Gentry was already up by 15 before the first Siloam player crossed home plate.

Scoring two more runs in the top of the fifth and holding the Lady Panthers scoreless in the bottom of the inning gave the Gentry girls the 17-3 win in five innings.

Gentry had 17 runs on 17 hits in the game. Malea Wilson, Liberty Brannon, Afton Finnell, Randi Jo Bolinger and Kyleigh Wheaton had multiple hits. Wilson led the Lady Pioneers with three hits in four at-bats, one of them a double.
