NOTICES OF PASSING PATRICIA GAYLE McGOUGH COKE

Patricia Gayle McGough Coke, 85, of El Dorado, AR passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at her home. Visitation will be Friday April 9, 2021,12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. service at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park. under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.

HENRIETTA BURGE DIRRETT

Henrietta Burge Durrett, 91, of El Dorado, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Arrangemen­ts will be announced by Young’s Funeral Directors.

OBITUARIES JOHNNY THOMAS GROVES

Johnny Thomas Groves, 69, of El Dorado, AR; died on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Courtyard Health and Rehabilita­tion.

Born on September 17, 1951 in Smackover, AR; he was the son of Tommy and Opal McKnight Groves. Johnny was retired maintenanc­e supervisor for Pilgrims Pride El Dorado plant.

He was preceded in death by his par- ents; and three sisters, Marie Porter, Cathey Porter, and Nona Leopard.

Survivors are his sons, Christophe­r Groves and Gregory Groves (Mindy) all of El Dorado, AR; four grandchild­ren, Tristan Groves, Caleb Groves, Rebecca Self (Connor), Dillion Groves; and one great grandchild, Sadie Opal Self.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Murmil Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 7, at Murmil Baptist Church with Rev. Sye Duke officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Bethel Primitive Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Memorials may be made to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnol­le Rd., El Dorado, AR 71730.

JUDY GRAY HOOVER

Judy Gray Hoover, of El Dorado, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021.

On May 17, 1975, she was married to Robert Doy Hoover who preceded her in death on December 10, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, James Gilliam Gray, Sr. and Evelyn Cook Gray.

Raised in Norman, Judy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norman. She was also a proud member of the Copiah Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Crystal Springs, Mississipp­i. She was one of the first employees, and would work for sixteen years, for Community Hospice, now Life

Touch Hospice, in

El Dorado. Later, she would work and retire from

South Arkansas

Eye Clinic. Judy thoroughly loved being around her grandbabie­s.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Amber and

Nicholas Bailey of

Cabot, Forrest And Brandy Hoover of Pea Ridge and Bradley and Jessica Hoover of Texarkana, Texas; eight grandchild­ren, Maddie (Jaylee) Kelley, Ethan Linam, Lily Hoover, Brennan Bailey, Caelan Bailey, Laurelyn Bailey, Koy Hoover and Ellisyn Hoover; two great-grandchild­ren, Payton Kelley and Bailey Kelley; and her brother and sister-in-law, James Gilliam, Jr. and Cherry Gray of Desoto, Texas.

Services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 10, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Janice McRae officiatin­g.

Interment will be in the Black Springs

Cemetery near Norman.

CHARLES C. MATTOX

Charles C. Mattox, 89, passed on April

1, 2021 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born January 27,

1932 in El Dorado,

AR to Zebulun

“Zeb” and Hettie

Mattox. Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman, he one time made the cover of the Arkansas Sportsmans

Magazine for catching a 13.3lb

Bass out of Lake Columbia. He enjoyed playing the base fiddle and was a member of numerous bands, most famously the Rabbit Town Ramblers Band. Charles was a long time member of the First Assembly of God church of El Dorado. Most of all Charles loved spending time with his family and fellowship with people.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his dear wife Mary Nelle Mattox, sister; Dorothy Curtis, brothers; Rukin Mattox and Henry Meguaion “Cotton” Mattox, He is survived by his son Alan Mattox of El Dorado, AR.

A graveside service was held Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 2:00PM at Symrna Cemetery in El Dorado, AR. Proctor Funeral Home is in

charge of the arrangemen­ts.
