HENRIETTA MCCLURE BURGE DURRETT Henrietta McClure Burge Durrett died on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021, at the age of 91.

SHAWN LUCAS STRICKLAND

Shawn Lucas Strickland, 25, of Smackover, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Baptist Health in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Shawn was born July 18,

1995 in Warren, Arkansas to Brian Keith Strickland and

Deborah Davis Strickland.

He was a Process Operator for Delek Oil Refinery. He was a member of One

Community Church in El

Dorado and was a member of the El Dorado Masonic

Lodge. Shawn enjoyed hunting and was a noted grill master. Shawn was an

Old Soul with a strong work ethic and great sense of humor, a true gentleman who loved his family.

Preceding him in death was his paternal grandfathe­r Merle Strickland and maternal grandmothe­r Patricia Myane Davis.

Survivors include his parents; wife, Lindsey Riggs Strickland and daughter Kinleigh Grace Strickland of Smackover; his parents; paternal grandmothe­r Dorothy Strickland; brother Seth Logan Strickland; mother and father in-law Janice and Bill Riggs; sister-in-laws Ashleigh Phillips (Jason) and grandparen­t in laws Marilyn Riggs and Deanna Mew (Danny).

The family will receive friends Monday evening at One Community Church from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12th at 2:00 P.M. at One Community Church with Pastor Jason Yarbrough officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. Pallbearer­s are Shawn Hodges, John Rego, Justin Rogers, Austin Posey, Schuyler Murph, and Hunter Gardner. Steve McDonald and Chris Mullins are honorary pallbearer­s.

BOBBY DOYLE SMITH

Bobby Doyle Smith, 79, of El Dorado, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at John R. Williamson Hospice House.

Bob was born January 28, 1942 in Mt. Holly, Arkansas to Walter and Ruby Smith. He was retired from Great Lakes Chemical Company.

He was a member of Wyatt Baptist Church.

He was also the founding member of Smith Hunting Club.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers, Roy Joe Smith, Bill Smith and Gene Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Smith; two sons, Keith Smith (Laura),

Michael Smith (Kim) and one daughter, Karen Stringer (Mark); six grandchild­ren, Anna Prim (Jacob), Claire Bennett (Dillon), Mallory Davis (Ty), Dillon Smith, Landon Smith and Hunter Stringer.

Graveside services will be held Monday, April 12th at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

DONALD LEE BLACKWELL

Donald Lee Blackwell, 89, of Smackover, AR died on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at The Springs of El Dorado.

Born on March 22, 1932 in Smackover, AR; Don was the son of Arthur and Elizabeth Blackwell. Don’s career began with Chicago Bridge and Iron building oil tanks and he retired as charter member of Boilermake­r’s Union 69 in Little Rock. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and a good joke. A devoted family man; Don provided for his family in his youth and as an adult for his own family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Smackover.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a son Rodney Blackwell and grandson Brandon Blackwell.

Survivors are his wife Jewell Faye Stone Blackwell; daughter Jackie Sparks; sons Roger Blackwell (Teresa) and Russell Blackwell (Elaine); a sister Jo Ann. Along with grandchild­ren Zachary Sparks, Joshua Sparks, Devin Nipper (Tommy) , Beth Blackwell, Carrie Blackwell and Delane Blackwell. Also surviving him are three great grandchild­ren.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 pm to 6 pm at Young Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be at 10 am, Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in Young’s Chapel with Rev. Carley Davis officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Smackover Cemetery.
