GREGORY “GREG” WAYNE STEVENSON

Gregory “Greg” Wayne Stevenson, 49, of Centerton, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 in Centerton, Arkansas. He was born on September 27, 1971 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Wayne Stevenson and the late Jeanette Stevenson. Greg grew up in Calion, Arkansas, where he was a local baseball champion and graduate of Norphlet High School. Greg went on to attend the Arkansas Law Enforcemen­t Training Academy. Greg fell in love with and married Maria Lynna Falcon on May 27, 1993 at the Calion Baptist Church in Calion, Arkansas. Greg and Maria are the proud parents of Brent and Courtney who they raised in Centerton, Arkansas. Greg proudly dedicated his life to the service of the citizens of Arkansas. Lieutenant Greg Stevenson was proud to be an active member of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office for the last fourteen years and served the citizens of Union County as a Deputy Sheriff for an additional seven years from 19992006. While in law enforcemen­t, Greg was awarded numerous commendati­ons for extraordin­ary service in the line of duty and his service during Hurricane Katrina.

Nothing brought Greg more happiness than spending time with his family. Greg loved the outdoors and spent his time away from work vacationin­g with his family on camping trips, at the lake, on the beach, or at family reunions. Greg was always active outdoors and had a passion for baseball, pickleball, and kayaking. A few of his favorite family vacations included family camping vacations and his Falcon family reunions at Camp Wood, TX. If you knew him by “Booger”, “Cookie”, or just Greg, you know he never met a stranger. Greg loved to help others and was always eager to jump in and help out friends and strangers alike.

He is survived by his wife Maria Stevenson of 28 years, and children Brent and Courtney. He is also survived by his father Wayne Stevenson, step-mother Loye Stevenson, brother Gerald Stevenson, father-inlaw Ralph Falcon, mother-in-law Connie Falcon, sisterin-law Becky Falcon, brother-in-law Lloyd and spouse Jamie Falcon, sister-in-law Rae Falcon, fourteen nieces and nephews, and eight great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Jeanette Stevenson and nephew Christophe­r Jones.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 17th from 5:00-8:00 PM at Fellowship Bible in Rogers, AR. Funeral services will be held on August 18th at 10:00 AM at Fellowship Bible in Rogers, AR. A police motorcade will lead guests on a procession­al past the Sheriff’s Office then on to graveside services at the Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Cemetery in Gravette, AR. Mickey Rapier of Fellowship Baptist will officiate the services. The Benton County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard will honor his memory by serving as pallbearer­s.

ELSIE ELAINE CALLOWAY DEES

Elsie Elaine Calloway Dees age 83, of Hermitage, AR passed Saturday, August 14 at Life Touch Hospice in El Dorado, AR. She was born January 8, 1938 in Shreveport, LA a daughter of the late Joe Lee and Naughvelle Futch Calloway. She was a homemaker, a registered nurse, and the chief financial officer of Dees Brothers Gulf Station. She also spent her days farming cattle, managing timber, and babysittin­g family. She served on the board of directors that establishe­d the Hermitage Health Clinic. She was a member of Farmville Missionary Baptist Church and wife to the late Thomas Linwood Dees, Sr. whom she married on March 2, 1963. Also, preceding her in death are her brothers Clarence Abner Calloway, Billy Ray Calloway, and Huey Wayne Calloway and her sisters Chlorene Elver Calloway Jones, Sallie Thelma Calloway Ham, Allie Melba Calloway Cantley, and Leola Calloway Burns. She is survived by two sons, David Allen Dees and spouse Rhonda and Thomas Linwood Dees Jr. all of Hermitage, AR; her brother Victor Lee Calloway, Boston, Mass. and sisters Sudie Vernessa Calloway Garner, El Dorado, AR, Martha Jean Calloway House, Huntsville, Ala, and Joann Calloway Smiley, Shreveport, LA; two grandchild­ren Brittany Renea Dees Leek and spouse Derek of Wilmar, AR and Lauren Ashley Dees Bryant and spouse Corey of Hampton, AR; three great-grandchild­ren Brody Allen Bryant and Hadleigh Kate Bryant of Hampton, AR and Peyton Alan Leek of Wilmar, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elaine Dees will be 2:00PM Thursday, August 19th at Frazer’ s Chapel. Burial in Holly Springs Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Visitation 6:00PM till 8:00PM Wednesday, August 18 at Frazer’s Funeral Home. www.frazerfune­ralhome.com
