Charles Sellers, 83, was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on September 3, 1937 to the late Coyt and Stella (Ford) Sellers. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha (Mott) Sellers of El Dorado, Arkansas; daughter, Sonya Thurlkill of El Dorado; son, Chuck Sellers of Three Creeks; granddaugh­ters, Kayla (Nick) Cannady of Calera, Alabama and Amanda (Josh) Brown of El Dorado; grandsons, Jacob (Anna) Thurlkill of Conway, Arkansas, Kyle (Jessica) Sellers of El Dorado, Colton Sellers and Coyt Sellers of Junction City, Arkansas; great-granddaugh­ters, Kinsley and Karlie Cannady and Lennon Sellers, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Coyt and Stella Sellers; his mother-in-law, Irene Gandy; and sonin-law, Jeff Thurlkill.

Charles graduated from Junction City High School in May of 1955. He was drafted by the Army and served for two years before being honorably discharged in 1962. Charles, his brother-in-law, and several employees built the beloved KTVE tower also known as the “Christmas tree” in downtown El Dorado. Charles strung the first set of lights on the tower. He was the proud owner of Sellers Steel Supply and later Steel Deals, Inc. He provided the south Arkansas area with steel for over five decades.

Charles was a beloved parent, grandparen­t, and great-grandparen­t. He coached many baseball and basketball teams throughout the years. He was a devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held 2:00PM, Sunday, August 22, 2021 with a funeral services immediatel­y following officiated by Bro. Johnny Johnstone at New Hope Baptist Church. Interment will be at Jolley Cemetery under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Home.
