Texas A&M tops Florida
HOOVER, Ala. (AP) — Austin Bost hit a three-run shot for one of Texas A&M's four homers and the No. 2 seed Aggies beat Florida 10-0 on Thursday in the SEC Tournament after a rain delay.
Texas A&M (36-17) is scheduled to play No. 11 seed Alabama on Friday. Florida (36-21) faces No. 3 seed Arkansas.
Texas A&M starter Micah Dallas (5-3) had four strikeouts through two innings and finished with seven after five innings. Joseph Menefee added four punchouts in two innings before the 10-run rule in the seventh.
Trevor Werner's two-run homer opened the scoring in the third inning and Ryan Targac started a seven-run sixth with a solo shot. Jordan Thompson added tworun homer in the seventh before Bost gave A&M a 10-run lead.
Jac Caglianone produced Florida's only hit — a single in the second inning. Freshman Brandon Neely (3-2) allowed three earned runs and six hits in 4 1/3 innings.
OKLAHOMA STATE 11, BAYLOR 1
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Justin Campbell struck out 10 in seven innings, Griffin Doersching hit a three-run homer and No. 4 seed Oklahoma State beat eighth-seeded Baylor.
Oklahoma State (37-19), coming off a 4-0 loss to Texas after recording just three hits, advances to play on Friday in the double-elimination tournament. Baylor (26-28) had its season come to an end.
Jake Thompson's two-run single in the seventh inning ended the game on the 10-run rule.
Thompson and Doersching each had three RBIs, and Roc Riggio had four of Oklahoma State's 16 hits. Doersching's 12th homer of the season made it 4-1 in the third inning, and Riggio's seventh home run made it 7-1 in the sixth.
Campbell (9-2) limited Baylor to just three hits and did not walk a batter.
Baylor starter Jake Jackson (4-5) allowed three earned runs in 2 1/3 innings.
KANSAS STATE 8, WEST VIRGINIA 5
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Dominic Johnson hit Kansas State's first homer of the Big 12 Tournament and the seventh-seeded Wildcats beat sixth-seeded West Virginia.
Kansas State (28-28) advances to play in another elimination game on Friday. West Virginia (33-22) hopes for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Raphael Pelletier's sacrifice bunt on a squeeze play in the ninth gave Kansas State a four-run lead.
Cash Rugely and Dylan Phillips each had two RBIs for Kansas State. Phillips was 3 for 5.
