Junction City tops Woodlawn

WOODLAWN - Rhianna Frazier hit two free throws with 23 seconds left in overtime and Junction City rallied for a 59-56 win at Woodlawn on Monday.

The Lady Dragons rallied from a 17-point deficit in the third quarter to tie the game at 40-40 at the end of regulation.

Allie Thurmon scored 20 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter and overtime with a pair of 3-pointers.

Karla Castillo scored 11 of her 15 in the fourth quarter and overtime. Kalesha Shaw came off the bench to score eight points for Junction City, which trailed 31-14 at the half.

“Allie Thurmon played her best all-around game of the season,” said Junction City coach Henry Harrell. “She, along with Castillo, made some big shots and free throws.”

Kathryn Dixon and Lillie McWhorter led the Lady Bears with 13 and 12, respective­ly. Skyler Conner, Anna Fitzgibbon and Jaci Hoyt scored eight points apiece.

Rison 60, Parkers Chapel 48

RISON - Rison led 25-17 at the half and hit 11-of-13 free throws in the fourth quarter and held off Parkers Chapel in conference action Monday. The Lady Trojans dropped to 20-6 overall and 6-4 in conference.

Destiny Lea led the Lady Wildcats with 24 points while Layne Potter added 16.

Bella Frisby paced Parkers Chapel with 14 points with Krista Rivers scoring 13.

Kallie Martin and Makenzie Morgan contribute­d nine and seven, respective­ly.

Smackover 49, Dollarway 17

PINE BLUFF - The Lady Bucks shut out Dollarway in the second quarter and posted their second conference win on Monday.

Smackover led 11-8 after one quarter and 25-8 at the half.

Carlie Crawford scored 17 points and Ragan Robinson added 11 for the Lady Bucks.

Smackover's junior girls play DeWitt on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the junior district tournament, which is being hosted by Smackover.
