Parkers Chapel tops Lady Go-Devils

GURDON - Krista Rivers homered and Carlee Cater pitched a complete game Friday as Parkers Chapel won at Gurdon 11-6. Both teams are 2-2 in 2A 8 action.

Parkers Chapel had 12 hits in the game, led by Rivers, who was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Tatum Watson and Addalyn Adams each had two hits and drove in three runs. Bella Frisby and Madison Arnold also had two hits apiece.

The Lady Trojans scored four runs in the first. Frisby doubled, Makenzie Morgan walked and both scored on Watson’s double. Adams would contribute a two-run triple.

Doubles by Cater and Arnold notched a run in the fourth before Rivers’ two-run homer in the fifth. Watson had a RBI triple in PC’s three-run sixth and Morgan drove in the final run with a single in the seventh.

Cater allowed five hits with seven walks and seven strikeouts in seven innings.

Gurdon’s Sadie Griffin struck out seven and walked three. Griffin was 3-for-3 with three RBI.

Smackover 16, Dumas 1

SMACKOVER - The Lady Bucks had six hits and took advantage of nine errors by Dumas in a win on Friday. Smackover improved to 8-1 in the 3A 8 while the Lady Bobcats fell to 2-9.

Ava Walker struck out six and didn’t walk a batter, allowing two hits in three innings.

Offensivel­y, Emily Camacho was 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Smackover scored nine runs in the third. Walker doubled home a run. A’Olani Baugus smashed a tworun double. Abby Brewer singled in a run and Camacho drove in two with a double.

Smackover hosts Drew Central on Monday and travels to McGehee on Tuesday.
