Blanca (“Blanquita”) Miledi Abraham

-

EL PASO, TEXAS - It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family of Mrs. Blanca Abraham announces her passing. Blanca was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on August 11, 1936, and she was called to join our Lord in Heaven on the afternoon of September 1, 2023. The youngest of seven children born to Nasim and Matilde Miledi, Blanca has now been reunited with her brothers, Victor, Albert, Nacim, and Ricardo, and her sisters, Gloria and Julie. Blanca is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Abraham, who passed away in 1988. It brings us comfort knowing that she is now walking beside the family she missed so deeply.

A longtime resident of El Paso, TX, Blanca was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick’s Cathedral since she was a child. She was a longtime member of the Altar Society, and her fellow parishioners, the clergy, and members of the St. Patrick’s Cathedral Choir became her chosen family. She appreciated the beauty in global cultures, and she took such joy accompanying church groups on countless pilgrimages around the world.

Blanca’s passion in life was music and singing. A proud member of the St. Patrick’s Cathedral Choir for 45 years, Blanca believed in the uniquely unifying power of music. For anyone who knew Blanca, the joy that music brought her was palpable. Even in her last days, music was a source of comfort and peace.

Blanca was as graceful and elegant as she was silly and sarcastic. She showed so much love to everyone she met. She was remarkable in that way and will be eternally remembered by those she has left behind. Blanca is survived by her sisters-in-law, Mela, Susana and Patricia Miledi, and her many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her profoundly. Blanca also leaves behind many devoted friends and caregivers, whom she loved dearly and considered family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, September 8, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa St., El Paso, TX 79902, followed by a private burial at Ft. Bliss. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Patrick’s Cathedral or to a charity of your choice.

Until we meet again, eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the soul of the faithful departed, Blanca, through mercy of God rest in peace.
