EL PASO - Paulina Celaya Ramirez, 89, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmothe­r, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023. Paulina was preceded in death by her parents Teresa and Pedro Celaya, Sisters: Socorro Osuna (†Robert), Beatriz Garcia (†Beto), Estella Alvarez (†Jesus). Brothers: Manuel Celaya, Alfonzo Celaya (†Patsy), Pete Celaya (Inez), Luis ( Wee) Celaya (Socorro), Goddaughte­r Michelle Salcido, Godson, James Matthew Celaya. She is survived by her husband Gilberto J. Ramirez, daughter Cyndi Ramirez ( Toni), sons Rene Ramirez (Crissie) and Gilbert David Ramirez, brother Amado “Judge” Celaya (Lupe), sister Corina Celaya (†Joe), 9 grandchild­ren, 3 great grandchild­ren and many nieces and nephews.

Mom was an amazing, intelligen­t and progressiv­e woman who worked very hard and always enjoyed learning new things. A graduate of Tech High School, she attended Texas Western College where her studies were accounting. She was the head bookkeeper at DeWitt and Rearick for many years where she retired at the early age of 59. After retirement she kept busy as a member of the Catholic Daughters Organizati­on, Pool Pals water aerobics group, Senior Citizens line dancing groups as well as volunteeri­ng with young unwed mothers. She had also been a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Emerald Social Club. Her hobbies included sewing, baking and creating jewelry. She especially loved to dance with her husband Gilberto Ramirez to whom she was married to for 68 years. As a mother she loved, cared and nurtured her family. She was the pillar of strength that kept our family functionin­g. She instilled many values and always delivered them with a dose of love. Mom is irreplacea­ble and will be missed immensely. RIP mom you are forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 12th from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Avenue with Vigil beginning at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 13th at 11:30 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 North Clark Drive. Burial will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Blvd.
