Trump values statues more than human lives

-

President Obama had to deal with Sars and ebola. He responded by: creating a pandemic task force, developing regulations requiring nursing homes to have PPE and a pandemic response plan and funding research into pandemics. He also created health insurance for those millions who could not afford it. That was responsible government, which looks out for the welfare of citizens and only two died of ebola.

Trump undid all those efforts, cut funding for NIH and CDC and is currently asking the Supreme Court to remove affordable care while we are in the pandemic. His followers have a blind faith in what he says but saying something doesn't make it true. There is a physical reality to the world that cannot be altered by rhetoric. Testing does not create Covid cases.

Through Trump's actions we, the richest nation on earth, lead the world in cases and deaths. Many poorer countries have contained the virus through scientific leadership and the patriotic efforts of their citizens. In other countries people pulled together for the greater good while we are being split apart by our president for our destruction.

The president promotes conspiracies and untruths. We need a president who is grounded in reality, has the capacity to tell the truth and who cares about human life. Trump is more concerned about protecting statues than he is about protecting lives.
