Here’s a way to burn off some guilt

- — David White, Oroville

We have reached a moment when guilt burdened Caucasians across the country are searching for actions which will help them relieve the shame and responsibility for racism which burdens their existence. Lightweights will settle for simple gestures such as purging their pantries of inappropriately named pancake mix, butter and rice. But for the really heavy hitters, I propose the Ultimate Symbolic Gesture (USG), guaranteed to excise even deeply ingrained racism and white privilege.

Here’s how it works. Participants liquidate all assets, home, vehicles, 401K, bank accounts, etc and convert it all into cash. They then withdraw the cash in the form of $1 bills. The bills, bearing the likeness of a racist, slave owning president, are then heaped into a pile and set on fire. Wealthier persons may substitute $20 bills in order to reduce fire risk while still destroying the likeness of another racist, slave owning president. Perhaps huge USG parties could be held at stadiums where thousands of participants could set hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars ablaze, and feel the rapture of purification as they watch their white privilege literally go up in smoke.

Petitions could be circulated demanding the treasury print new currency with images of modern day victims of a racist judicial system such as Bill Cosby and O.J. Simpson. And the real beauty of all this is that it is totally without benefit to anyone whatsoever in any practical sense. It is 100% feel good, virtue signaling, wokeness.
