Commentary

This past Sunday I reached a milestone, at least for me anyway. I shot at or below my age for the 300th time, but believe me, this is not significant in terms of the alleged record of 3,359, which belongs to T. Edison Smith. I have used my upper division math skills, one step above the differential calculus class I took at Chico State from Professor Everett Riggle in 1962, to arrive at the following conclusion: If I continue to play, at my current average of approximately 90-rounds a year, and shoot my age every single time, I will break the record when I am 118 years old. I would only need to be 110 years old to move into second place, which is 2,623 times. Believe me, this much longevity on my part is definitely not a pleasant thought for my “friends”, and/or, family members … just saying.

P.S. Rumor has it that an alligator has been sighted in the pond guarding the front of the 17th green at Butte Creek. Hopefully the geese will notice him and take flight.
