Commission to hear new park trails plan

- Staff reports

CHICO » Trails Labs Co. will present the Bidwell Park & Playground Commission a baseline conditions draft report Monday from its surveys and inventory of the trails in upper Bidwell Park, and provide an update on the development of a new trails plan.

The commission will meets at 6 p.m. Monday via teleconference on the web Ex platform, which is similar to Zoom.

The Natural Resource Committee will then provide a report about two items discussed during the last meeting.

The first discussed item is an Environmental Impact Report being prepared for the draft Vegetative Fuels Management Plan. The latter was created for cityowned parks, greenways and open spaces.

The second item is a 5- year review of the operating agreement for the Peregrine Point Disc Golf course. The committee will review the status of compliance with the agreement terms. Staff

will identify the costs to complete outstanding tasks, including future biological monitoring. Staff will also propose amendments to the agreement that reflect the capacity to which the course can be maintained.

The commission will review the current noise restrictions in city parks and greenways and discuss a possible ban on amplified sound, unless allowed by a park permit.

Linda Herman, Park and Natural Resources manager, will give a Parks Division Report, while Richie Bamlet, urban forest manager, will give a Street Tree Division Report.
