Oroville city council to finalize election cycle
OROVILLE » The Oroville City Council will hold a vote to determine the election timing for each district boundary.
Many more votes will be taken during Tuesday’s City Councilmeeting which begins at 4:30 p.m.
The councilors will consider awarding a contract to All-American Construction of Live Oak for the 2020 Pavement Rehabilitation Project. The company’s low bid was for nearly $2 million.
Developing a sidewalk condition assessment at no more than $57,000 will also be considered. This is a result of ground settling and tree toots causing uneven sidewalks, which are a potential hazard to the public.
While doing construction on the Municipal Auditorium, hidden dry rot was found. So, the council will consider approving a change order expenditure so the project repairs and schedule can be met. The council will also consider awarding a contract with North State Audio Visual for lighting, sound and videoupgrades to the auditorium that would amount to $72,159.24.
The City Council will consider an upgrade to the dispatch radio consoles and the first year’s maintenance in the amount of $423,546 and the levee antenna repair of $6,105.20. Recurring maintenance costs for the dispatch consoles will be budgeted.
Councilors will then consider approving an emergency contract with Duke Sherwood Contracting, Inc. for vac cleaning of the city’s 1,323 drainage outlets.
During open session, the council will discuss the following items:
• A lease agreement with Global Office Inc. utilizing the NASPO contract in the monthly amount of $1777.42 for the replacement of the Oroville Police Department coper.
• An easement to PG&E for underground gas facilities. The easement would be across parking Lot C at the corner of Robinson and Downer streets.
• A parking lot lease renewal and extension with Pacific Coast Producers.
• A proposed art installation by Starbucks at 3004 Olive Highway.
• A merit increase for thePublicWorksMidManagers.
• A temporary hiring DeanHill Jr. to assist with conducting fire inspections for the Fire Department.
The council will then consider allocating fund balances as follows:
• $3,000,000 to go to the Capital Projects Fund to consider much needed projects.
• $1,500,000 be added to the General Reserve to bring it to approximately 23%.
• $1,000,000 additional payment to our CalPERS unfunded liability.
• $600,000 for Debt Reduction to pay off the PG&E and theWells Fargo loans.
• $300,000 to the City’s Housing fund payback.
