Barrett has integrity to serve on Supreme Court
The Judicial Committee of the Senate is now considering the approval of Amy Coney Barrett (ACB) as a Supreme Court justice. Obamacare (ACA) is a main controversy in this consideration. Many, ignoring the fact that each case is decided on its own merit, contend ACB will attack the ACA. One can only predict how a jurist will respond if you assume they will vote in favor of a given agenda. Indeed, ACB has denounced any advocating from the bench and supports advocating for the Constitution.
The current controversy over the ACA ignores one important historical concern. The ACA was passed on a totally partisan basis. Not one Republican voted in favor of it. Why is that? The bill was rushed through Congress without adequate consideration. Many concede that no one, Democrats included even though they voted for it, had enough time to even read the law, much less review all of the associated regulations. Americans should expect representatives to be familiar with what they are passing into law. Congress did not do this and ignored congressional obligations and due diligence in passing this law.
Is it possible that an unread law of thousands of pages might have some issues with the Constitution? This possibility should have been explored before voting on the bill. Everyone concerned about the rule of law and the Constitution should want a person of integrity and intelligence to review any or all of the laws under which we live. Amy Coney Barrett is such a person.
