PARADISE » A Paradise man was arrested on Monday night after a domestic dispute, according to the Paradise Police Department.
Police say that at about 11:16 a. m., a woman arrived at the department lobby regarding domestic violence. The woman told police that she had a verbal argument on Sunday that turned physical with her husband Preston Wrachford.
The woman told police her husband struck her with a metal broom handle causing injuries. During the altercation, the woman alleged to police that Wrachford, 23, prevented her from leaving their home, and he physically assaulted her while he was holding their infant child.
Police say they contacted Wrachford who allegedly admitted to being involved in the physical altercation with his wife, and he was taken into custody without incident. Wrachford was booked into the Butte County Jail on suspicion of felony domestic battery, felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony child endangerment and felony false imprisonment with a bail of $145,000.
Parked car
Police say that a car that was left between Pentz Road and Coutolenc Road on Skyway led to an arrest Friday. Police say that the car was parked on the east shoulder of the roadway for several days. Officers say the car was registered to Teddy King Jr., 29, of Paradise.
Police say King was wanted on five no-cite misdemeanor warrants for narcotics-related offenses. While they were investigating the police say they located a fresh trail on the east side of the roadway, from the vehicle, over a steep embankment toward the canyon below. Officers say they followed the trail for about 50 yards where they located King at a makeshift campsite. King was taken into custody without incident.
A search of a backpack police allege they found with King had a suspected controlled substance, believed to be methamphetamine, and associated drug paraphernalia. He was booked into Butte County Jail on suspicion of five misdemeanor warrants and fresh charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
