A lesson on the horse, the cart and the carrot The years ahead don’t look so rosy

-

It seems to me that the new city council needs a lesson on what is a horse and what a cart is and put them in the right order to move as they make a pathetic and feeble attempt at resolving our local homeless problem. If it is not their problem, but the state’s and the federal government’s, then what actions are they perusing to involve our State Senator and/or Assemblyman or our House of Representative member and/or U.S. Senators? Passing a law to make homelessness illegal just makes fodder for a lawyer to cobble up some of the City’s already stressed revenue.

I live in a neighborhood where it is not uncommon to see a homeless person pushing a grocery cart up the street to a recycling center with their load of recyclables. So far, they have not created any problems for me or my family. For those folk who proclaim “Not in My Back Yard,” I am sorry to inform you they are already there! The problem is right here in Chico, not in Sacramento or Washington , D.C. It is up to all of us to solve the problem here.

What is needed is: food for the hungry and a place to relive oneself, (the horse); a safe place for shelter, (the cart); access to recourses for assistance, (the destination), and the political will to fill these needs, (the carrot).

We will all never forget 2020. This Crap Storm is over. But the next several years will be like an endless rerun of the “Twilight Zone.” Here are some of the bad dreams to come. For those of you that worship Obama by bowing to his live size cut- out each night, no worries, fore he will be the “puppet master” in the next administration. The media will continue to lie and attack Trump because of his potential run in 2024. Facebook, Twitter and the Progressive will move forward to sensor our First Amendment rights. The COVID-19 virus will be in the rear view mirror and the economy will rebound.

But the left will flush it down the toilet with their “existential threat,” climate change policies. the federal debt will explode with handout programs, foreign aid, student loan forgiveness and of course higher taxes. The relentless campaign to defund law enforcement will continue to divide us. Facts and common sense will be replaced with science. We will be afraid to communicate with each other because of gender-inclusive language changes and “Cancel culture.” China will become more dominant over our country. But my worst nightmare is our first Jamaican-India-American female President. Hold on tight.
