Keith Stanley Baugher was born May 27, 1926 on the family farm south of Orland and passed away on Sunday, January 10th. He graduated from Orland High School, where he played football and basketball. After high school, he was drafted into the Army and served in Italy in the 185th Engineering Division, helping build a bridge over the Po River, then volunteered for the 10th Mountain Division where he trained mules brought over from Missouri to carry equipment up the Italian Alps, then as an M.P. and a radio operator in the 101st. When returning home, he attended San Jose State University.

In 1948 he married his hometown sweetheart, Carol Leonard, who passed away in 2019. They were married for 70 years and raised 4 boys, Chris, Jim, David and Jody, with 2 foster daughters, Melva and Alma, on a farm south of Hamilton City. Keith and Carol started out on a dairy, but after a couple of years Keith switched to farming sugar beets, wheat, beans, rice and almonds. Keith adored his family and was very proud of all his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He loved to work on his tractors and could always fix anything that was broken, and stayed active riding his bicycle around his neighborhood.

Keith is survived by his son Chris and wife Marcie, son Jim and wife Linda, son David and wife Connie, son Jody and wife Khana, foster daughters Melva and Alma, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and sister-in-law Ruby Baugher who turned 100 this last year.

Due to the times, we will be having an immediate family graveside service. He will be laid to rest at Oddfellows Cemetery.
