The outbreak of COVID-19 has rapidly changed everyday life in Butte County. It is a quick-moving situation in which it is important to stay informed. This is a list of basic informatio­n and resources. It will be updated.

By the numbers (through Tuesday)

Butte County: 9,368 confirmed cases, 1,168 probable cases with 8,689 recoveries, 61 hospitaliz­ed, 123 deaths (increase of two from Monday). 143,888 total tests.

Glenn County: 1,844 confirmed cases, 383 probable cases with 1,522 recoveries, 18 hospitaliz­ed, 19 deaths. 13,746 total tests.

Tehama County: 3,971 confirmed cases (no update since Thursday) with 2,353 recoveries, 15 hospitaliz­ed, 42 deaths (increase of one from Tuesday). 24,055 total tests.

Chico Unified School District positive cases (Through Tuesday, Jan. 19)

Chico High: 33 total (26 students, five staff members, two online students).

Pleasant Valley High: 44 total (38 students, six staff members).

Fair View High: Three total (three students).

Oakdale: Three total (one student, one staff member, one online student).

Oak Bridge Academy (K12): Two total (two online students).

Bidwell Junior High: 19 total (12 students, six staff members, one online student).

Chico Junior High: 10 total (seven students, two staff members, one online student).

Marsh Junior High: 20 total (13 students, six staff members, one online student).

Chapman Elementary: Nine total (five students, four staff members).

Citrus Elementary: Four total (two students, two staff members).

Emma Wilson Elementary: 11 total (six students, five staff members).

Residents in Butte, Glenn, Shasta and Tehama counties can dial 2-1-1 anytime to get informatio­n on the crisis and get connected to resources as they become available. Residents in those counties, along with Lassen, Siskiyou and Trinity, can also receive informatio­n by texting CORONAVIRU­S to 211-211.

The Northern Valley Talk Line now provides non-crisis peer to peer telephone service to the community 7 days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. 855582-5554.
