LaMalfa editorial gets a big ‘miss’

-

A huge “miss” for the week might be a “miss” by the E-R editorial board. I’m referring to an editorial supporting the idea that Doug LaMalfa must resign.

The editorial cites the large numbers of letters submitted calling for LaMalfa’s resignation. Letters from documented DTS sufferers and others (mainly from Chico) are hardly a yardstick by which one should form an opinion. Chico is not the First Congressional District. Letters are not votes.

The choice between LaMalfa and Denney could not have been more easy. You could choose freedom and fiscal responsibility (LaMalfa) or you could choose socialism (Denney) hellbent on spending and taxing us into poverty and managing every aspect of our lives. I recall reading about a bit of a skirmish over a similar scenario on U.S. soil beginning 245 years ago.

Seemingly, the editorial attempted (and utterly failed) to connect LaMalfa’s desire to discuss the issue of whether or not an election was stolen to anything. That is not treason nor being a traitor. It’s called debate. I never subscribed to the notion that the election was stolen, but there was plenty of anecdotal reporting that could support such a possibility. Contrast LaMalfa’s action to the three-year, relentless attempt by Congressional Democrats to remove Trump with repeated false claims by its leadership. Shameful, “shamful”, vindictive, sinister, and treasonous describe the axis of evil known as Pelosi, Schumer, and Shiff. Somewhere in the deep recesses of its newsroom, even the E-R should know it.
