The outbreak of COVID-19 has rapidly changed everyday life in Butte County. It is a quickmovin­g situation in which it is important to stay informed. This is a list of basic informatio­n and resources. It will be updated.

Butte County: 10,837 confirmed cases (increase of 13 from Thursday), 1,669 probable cases with 23 hospitaliz­ed, 169 deaths (increase of two from Thursday). Current tier: purple.

Glenn County: 2,196 confirmed cases (increase of three from Thursday), 519 probable cases with six hospitaliz­ed, 23 deaths. Current tier: purple.

Tehama County: 5,118 confirmed cases (no update since Thursday) with three hospitaliz­ed, 52 deaths. Current tier: purple.

Vaccinatio­ns

In December 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administra­tion issued two emergency use authorizat­ions for a vaccine to prevent COVID-19 in individual­s 16 years of age and older, allowing the PfizerBioN­Tech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to be distribute­d. On Feb. 27, the FDA issued a EUA for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, becoming the third vaccine authorized in the U.S.

Local counties are receiving weekly vaccine allocation­s from the California Department of Public Health and prioritizi­ng vaccinatio­ns to their most vulnerable residents by age and sector, including, though not limited to, health care, essential emergency services and education. Numbers below reflect their progress so far.
