‘Eternal vigilance’ is the price of freedom

-

I did not voluntarily enlist in the U.S Marine Corps back in 1969 just so 48 years later, Putin, a former KGB agent could have more say in our elections than I.

Putin assisted millions of conservative never-dowells in installing a lying autocrat into our White House. By doing so Putin fulfilled Nikita Khrushchev’s prediction of “we will bury you.” They buried us all right, under a heap of misguided American terrorists.

I have been accused of “spilling ugly comments about persons with different viewpoints …” Truth is, I welcome different opinions, usually they lead to intelligent discourse.

And how can one have intelligent discussions with fanatics who deal in “alternate facts,” whacky conspiracy theories, fall pray to every falsehood uttered by Messiah Trump, do not believe in science and hate one of the most benevolent governments on Earth?

Conservatives spouting gibberish about the election being stolen, that “voting machine fraud was rampant…” etc ad nauseam, are obviously not thinking by themselves but parroting destructive lies, their incendiary hogwash ought to be legally squelched the same way responsible social media companies are already doing.

It matters not if MAGAheads served.

Many conservative savages who attacked our democracy on Jan. 6 were active and former military and law enforcement men, many of whom, I would venture to say, adorned their old military lockers with Swastikas, Confederate Flags and “The South will rise again” posters.

Let us not forget: “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”
