Gordon helps Magic hold off Nets

ORLANDO, FLA. >> Aaron Gordon scored a season-best 38 points, Evan Fournier added 31 and the Orlando Magic held off Brooklyn’s furious fourth-quarter rally to beat the Nets 121113 on Friday night.

The Magic overcame Kyrie Irving’s season-best 43 points to end a nine-game losing streak and stop Brooklyn’s winning streak at six games. The Nets also had their franchise-record, eight-game road winning streak halted.

Orlando led 103-84 at the end of the third quarter, but the Nets opened the fourth with a 16-1 run. However, the Nets would get no closer than 104-100 after Gordon and Fournier revived the Magic offense.

Gordon tipped in an airball that gave Orlando a 114-105 lead and his 3-pointer seconds sealed the victory.

SPURS 116, CAVALIERS 110 >> Keldon Johnson had 23 points and career-high 21 rebounds, Dejounte Murray added 22 points and San Antonio beat Cleveland. PACERS 137, HEAT 110 >> Malcolm Brogdon scored 27 points on 10-of-12 shooting to help Indiana beat Miami.

NUGGETS 131, BULLS 127 (OT) >> Jamal Murray scored 34 points, including a tying 3-pointer in the final second of regulation and a crucial jumper in the final seconds of overtime, lifting Denver past Chicago.

SUNS 113, TIMBERWOLV­ES 101 >> Chris Paul scored 20 points, Devin Booker added 16 and Phoenix bounced back from a loss to Minnesota the night before. BLAZERS 101, PELICANS 93 >> Damian Lillard scored 36 points, 21 in the opening quarter alone, and Portland won the second of back-toback games against New Orleans.
