‘Racism’ tag is an unfair label

-

In a rambling, disjointed essay about “Republicans” and the Republican Party, Walter Ballin finally concluded that the Republican Party is the “party of racism.” I’m hopeful that Ballin is not one of those “educated” Democrats residing in Chico (so called by another writer recently). In comparison, one could define the (Socialist) Democrat Party as the “party of rioters, arsonists, murderers, and looters”. Fair? I think not.

As a registered Republican, I resent Ballin’s assertion that I belong to a party of racism.

Yes. Former President Trump has termed the COVID-19 virus the “Chinese Virus.” So what? That is not being racist. It was not in reference to a racial group. Trump used the term to identify the Chinese Communist Party (Government of China) as having been, in his opinion, significantly responsible for exporting the virus around the globe. Ballin’s inability to distinguish between race and nationality is astonishing, but not surprising.

Maybe Ballin would like an assessment of today’s (Socialist) Democrat Party. I recommend of a book by Burgess Owens. Owens is a retired Oakland Raiders football player and is Black. The subtitle of his book describes the (Socialist) Democrat Party as the party of “whiners, weenies, and wimps.” Not exactly a news flash, but quite accurate. Owens is now (gasp) a Republican Congressman representing the State of Utah’s 4th District (double gasp).
