Town sewer committee will meet on Monday
Ridge officials to discuss the project with Chico
The Paradise Sewer Regionalization Project Advisory Committee is set to finally meet. The committee was supposed to meet remotely last month but technical issues forced the cancellation of that meeting.
Now the meeting will occur Monday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The committee is made up of Paradise Mayor Steve Crowder, Vice Mayor Jody Jones, Chico Mayor Andrew Coolidge and Vice Mayor Kasey Reynolds.
The committee was created because Paradise believes that a connection to the Chico Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) is its preferred alternative for wastewater treatment and disposal and has approached Chico to explore the feasibility of such a regional project.
To do that, both councils voted to create a Sewer Regionalization Project Advisory Committee, which will monitor the sewer project’s progress including the Environmental Impact Report (EIR), and efforts being done under the Town and City’s Cooperative Work Agreement.
It will also develop the principles of the agreement for an inter-municipal agreement between the Town and City, and make a recommendation on those principles to both councils if applicable, and
guide public participation in the EIR process which will happen separately but parallel with the committee’s work.

For those who want to participate, the meeting will take place on
Zoom but there are limited spaces for those who wish to make public comments during the meeting. Attendees on zoom will be muted by the host
and will be asked to raise their hands if they wish to make a public comment. A moderator will call out the name of the attendee who will then be
unmuted to deliver public comment. Each public comment will be limited to 3 minutes. Zoom Link: Join Zoom Meeting Meeting ID: 949 8337 1611 Passcode:
