Oroville council to decide on a lighting contractor
OROVILLE » The Oroville City Council may consider an agreement for labor regarding lighting in the Oroville Convention Center gymnasium.
The recommendation is that staff would be authorized to enter an agreement with Sactown Contractors Corp to provide labor removal of old and installation of the upgraded lighting in the gymnasium of the Oroville Convention Center.
Councilors may also consider a request for alternative mitigation to the City’s Oak Tree Loss Mitigation. The recommendation is that direction will be provided to staff as to the mitigation measures and/or fees to be assessed.
As a result of the 2020 Census, the City of Oroville is required to review new population data and to re-balance its City Council election districts. The City Council is required to adopt a new district map or, if appropriate, readopt the existing district map by Ordinance following a series of public hearings. The City Council districts must be “substantially equal in population” based upon the results of the 2020 Census.
The districts are also required to comply with the United States Constitution, the California Constitution and the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965. The recommendation is to hold a public hearing to receive community input on City Council election district boundaries.
The Council will hold a closed session to meet with personnel including the city administrator, personnel officer and the city attorney to consider the jobs of the police chief and community development director.
The council will also meet with the city administrator and city attorney regarding a potential lawsuit against the state Department of Water Resources and it will meet with Real Property Negotiators, the city administrator and city Attorney, regarding the property at 2959 Lower Wyandotte Road in Oroville.
