PAULINE MARIE MORRISON

-

Pauline Marie Morrison was born February 1,

1958, to Edwin Emil and Marjorie May Mertens in

Great Falls , Montana.

Her formative years were spent living in Washtucna, Washington where she attended the same school from kindergarten through her senior year in high school, graduating in 1976. Following high school she moved to Vancouver, WA and attended Clark College and worked for the Columbian Newspaper.

In 1981 she married Robert Morrison while he was attending Evergreen State College. In 1985 they moved to Chico, CA and began a career in property management. For 35 years Pauline worked for Everett Apartments as the business manager. During those years she mentored many young people in the business of property management. Her greatest love has always been small children and her office looked like a day care center most of the time she worked. All her employees were treated by her as family and many of them remained for 15 or 20 years or more. Pauline served the North Valley Property Owners Association as president for two years and was on the board of directors and several other committees for that organization.

Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she never failed to see that everyone around her enjoyed the season. Pauline was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 and went through chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She thought she was cancer free, but in 2021 it was discovered that the cancer had metastasized and was in the lungs, liver, bones, and brain.

On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 10:00 PM her battle with this horrid disease was over. Pauline is survived by her husband, Robert Morrison, two Children, Wendy Bailey and Cheri Schoenhofen and two grandchildren.

Pauline grew up in a large family with many brothers and sisters. In order of age, they were Yvonne Johns, Bruce Mertens, Bernice Milner, Ricky Mertens, Roger Mertens, Rex Mertens, Deanna Stottlemyer, Bernadine Barnett, and Pamela Lee the youngest.

A celebration of life will be held on November 6, 2021, at the Highland Lutheran Church in La Center, WA., beginning as 1:00 PM. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer research center of your choice.
